Tauraoc porphyreolophus aka Purple Crested Lourie is a shy bird and is not easily seen once in the tree tops. This bird is very conspicuous in flight and the very distinctive colour of its under wings is usually the key to identifying this very noisy bird. 

The Purple crested Lourie prefers well wooded areas and eats mostly fruits
